Fulvestrant + abemaciclib is a combination therapy used for the treatment of hormone receptor-positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 negative (HER2-) advanced or metastatic breast cancer in women with disease progression after endocrine therapy. Abemaciclib is a CDK4/6 inhibitor with greater relative potency for cyclin D1/CDK4 compared with cyclin D3/CDK6. Fulvestrant is an estrogen receptor antagonist. The combination has demonstrated significant improvement in progression-free survival compared to fulvestrant alone.
