Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination regimen consisting of three drugs: **Furmonertinib** is a third-generation, oral, highly brain-penetrant, mutant-selective epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI). It targets EGFR mutations including T790M and exon 20 insertions and is approved for the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with confirmed EGFR mutations. Furmonertinib also inhibits drug efflux transporters ABCB1 and ABCG2, potentially overcoming multidrug resistance in cancer cells. **Cisplatin** is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that forms DNA crosslinks, leading to apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. **Pemetrexed** is an antifolate antineoplastic agent that inhibits multiple folate-dependent enzymes involved in nucleotide synthesis, thereby blocking DNA replication and cell division. The combination of these agents may be used as part of investigational regimens for NSCLC with specific EGFR mutations or as part of clinical trials evaluating efficacy versus standard platinum-based chemotherapy[1][3][4][9].
