furmonertinib + platinum-based double chemotherapy

Furmonertinib (also known as fumetinib) is a third-generation, irreversible, oral epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) that selectively targets EGFR-sensitizing mutations and the T790M resistance mutation. In this combination regimen, furmonertinib is paired with platinum-based doublet chemotherapy (typically a platinum agent like cisplatin or carboplatin combined with a second-generation cytotoxic agent) as an induction therapy. This strategy is being investigated for patients with unresectable stage III EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) to improve local control and systemic efficacy compared to standard concurrent chemoradiotherapy.
