Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of furosemide, a loop diuretic, and lysine acetylsalicylate, a more soluble form of aspirin. This combination has been studied primarily for its bronchial antireactive activity in asthma patients. The combination demonstrates a synergistic effect that allows for significant reduction in inhaled steroid dosage in patients with severe asthma. The mechanism appears to involve inhibition of local prostaglandin synthesis, which enhances the bronchial antireactive activity of furosemide.
