Drug intelligence / Profile preview
"Fuzheng" (扶正) is a fundamental therapeutic principle in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that translates to "supporting the righteous" or "bolstering the body's vital energy (Qi) and innate defenses". Fuzheng formulas are multi-ingredient herbal preparations designed to strengthen the body's resistance to disease and eliminate pathogenic factors. These formulas are often used as supportive therapies in various conditions, including cancer, liver fibrosis, and stroke, aiming to improve overall health, immune function, and reduce side effects of other treatments. Specific Fuzheng formulas, such as Fuzheng Fangai pill, Fuzheng Huayu Recipe, and Fuzheng Xiaozheng Prescription, have demonstrated diverse mechanisms, including modulating immune responses, inhibiting inflammatory pathways, regulating gene expression related to fibrosis, and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. The term "Fuzheng 1" is not associated with a single, specific pharmaceutical drug but rather refers to a type of Traditional Chinese Medicine formula adhering to the Fuzheng principle.
