DM-Dual-Gd-ICG is a dual-mode contrast agent designed for multimodal imaging, combining gadolinium (Gd) for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and indocyanine green (ICG) for near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence imaging. This agent is specifically developed to improve the management of ovarian cancer by enabling high-resolution pre-surgical staging and planning via MR, followed by real-time intraoperative guidance using NIR fluorescence to assist in the complete surgical resection of peritoneal tumors. Preclinical studies in mouse models (Hey-A8 and OVCAR3) have demonstrated that the agent significantly enhances tumor visualization in the peritoneal cavity, showing increased signal-to-noise ratios on MR and distinct fluorescence during open-abdomen surgery.
