Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Galeterone hydrochloride + IET is an investigational drug product being developed by LTN Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). It consists of galeterone hydrochloride, a multi-targeted small molecule, combined with a proprietary Improved Exposure Technology (IET) designed to optimize the drug's pharmacokinetic profile and oral bioavailability. Galeterone acts through a triple mechanism of action: it serves as a selective androgen receptor (AR) antagonist, a CYP17 enzyme inhibitor (blocking androgen synthesis), and an AR degrader that specifically targets both wild-type AR and the AR-V7 splice variant, which is associated with resistance to standard therapies. The program is currently in Phase 2 clinical development, focusing on addressing the limitations of earlier galeterone formulations.
