GammaTile + temozolomide is a **combination therapy** involving the implantation of GammaTile, a brachytherapy device delivering localized Cesium-131 radiation, with systemic temozolomide, an oral alkylating chemotherapy agent. GammaTile is an FDA-cleared device comprised of bioresorbable collagen tiles embedded with Cs-131 radioactive seeds, placed in the resection cavity after brain tumor removal to provide immediate, localized radiation. Temozolomide is used as the standard chemotherapeutic backbone (Stupp protocol) for malignant gliomas, notably glioblastoma. The combination is being investigated for newly diagnosed glioblastoma in trials aiming to improve local control, progression-free survival, and overall survival by providing early, intensified local radiation together with concomitant and adjuvant systemic chemotherapy.
