Overview

This is a combination therapy consisting of three drugs—ganetespib (a heat shock protein 90 inhibitor), paclitaxel (a taxane chemotherapy agent), and trastuzumab (a monoclonal antibody targeting HER2). The combination has been investigated in clinical trials for the treatment of HER2-positive cancers, particularly metastatic breast cancer. Ganetespib inhibits HSP90, disrupting oncogenic client proteins; paclitaxel stabilizes microtubules to inhibit cell division; and trastuzumab binds to HER2 receptors to block signaling pathways that promote cancer cell growth[1][2].
