Overview

A combination of two fully human monoclonal antibodies for oncology research: ganitumab is an anti–insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF1R) antibody that blocks IGF-1/IGF-2 signaling, and rilotumumab is an anti–hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) antibody that inhibits HGF binding to the MET receptor. Evaluated primarily in combination regimens (e.g., with panitumumab or platinum–etoposide) for metastatic colorectal cancer and extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer; clinical studies did not demonstrate clear improvement in overall outcomes versus comparators, though safety was generally tolerable in tested regimens.[2][1][3]
