Garlic + nystatin is a combination of two agents—garlic (a natural product with antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties) and nystatin (a polyene antifungal drug)—used or studied together for the treatment of fungal infections, particularly oral candidiasis such as denture stomatitis. Nystatin acts by binding to ergosterol in fungal cell membranes, increasing membrane permeability and causing cell death. Garlic contains allicin, which exhibits antifungal activity through disruption of microbial membranes and modulation of inflammatory responses.
