Overview

GC1102 + nucleos(t)ide analogues is a **combination therapy** under investigation for the treatment of **chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection**. GC1102 (also known as lenvervimab) is a recombinant human monoclonal antibody targeting the **hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)**, functioning both as a neutralizer of circulating HBV particles and as an immunostimulant by enhancing immune-mediated clearance. Nucleos(t)ide analogues (NAs) are a class of small-molecule antiviral agents that inhibit the HBV polymerase, thereby blocking viral DNA synthesis and suppressing HBV replication. The combination aims to increase the chance of functional cure by reducing HBsAg titers and controlling HBV replication, targeting different stages of the viral life cycle. Clinical studies have shown that combining GC1102 with NAs results in more robust reductions of HBsAg than NAs alone, potentially increasing rates of sustained virologic response and functional cure in HBV patients.
