Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Gd-CDs@HCM** is an experimental biomimetic nanotherapeutic platform for hepatocellular carcinoma. It consists of gadolinium-doped carbon dots coated with hepatocellular carcinoma cell membranes, designed to provide homologous tumor targeting and immune stimulation. The gadolinium-doped carbon-dot core supports fluorescence and magnetic-resonance imaging as well as photothermal therapy. Following laser irradiation, the platform induces tumor-cell photothermal damage and immunogenic cell death, releasing tumor-associated antigens and damage-associated molecular patterns that promote systemic antitumor immune responses. It has been reported in a preclinical hepatocellular carcinoma study and is not an approved medicine.
