Overview

GD2-CAR-T cell is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by The General Hospital of Western Theater Command for the treatment of relapsed or refractory neuroblastoma. The therapy involves the ex vivo genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR specific for the GD2 (disialoganglioside) antigen, a surface marker expressed on nearly all neuroblastoma cells. Upon re-infusion, these engineered T cells recognize and bind to GD2-expressing tumor cells, triggering T-cell activation and subsequent tumor cell destruction. The therapy is currently being evaluated in an early Phase 1 clinical trial (NCT06684639) to assess its safety and preliminary efficacy in pediatric patients.
