GD2L-KLH + GD3L-KLH is a bivalent conjugate cancer vaccine developed by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for the treatment of high-risk neuroblastoma. The vaccine consists of two ganglioside antigens, GD2 lactone (GD2L) and GD3 lactone (GD3L), each individually conjugated to the immunological carrier protein keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH). It is designed to induce a humoral immune response (antibodies) against GD2 and GD3, which are highly expressed on the surface of neuroblastoma cells. The vaccine is typically administered subcutaneously in combination with the saponin-based adjuvant OPT-821 and oral beta-glucan to enhance the immune system's ability to identify and destroy residual cancer cells.
