Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GEM103 + aflibercept is a combination therapy under clinical investigation for the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) with or at risk for macular atrophy. GEM103 is a full-length recombinant human complement factor H (rCFH) protein designed to address complement hyperactivity and restore retinal health in genetically defined AMD patients. Aflibercept is an anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) agent that inhibits abnormal blood vessel growth in the retina. The combination aims to improve outcomes by targeting both the underlying genetic cause of disease progression and the vascular pathology[1][3][2].
