The combination of gemcitabine, carboplatin, and paclitaxel is a multi-agent chemotherapy regimen evaluated for the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Paclitaxel is a taxane that stabilizes microtubules, preventing their depolymerization and leading to cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase. This regimen was specifically designed to assess efficacy and tolerability in patients with advanced disease and poor performance status or significant comorbidities.
