Drug intelligence / Profile preview
gemcitabine + cediranib is an investigational chemotherapy–targeted therapy combination in which gemcitabine, a nucleoside analog that inhibits DNA synthesis and induces apoptosis in proliferating cells, is paired with cediranib, an oral small‑molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR1, VEGFR2, VEGFR3) with additional activity against platelet-derived growth factor receptors and c-KIT, to enhance antitumor efficacy through simultaneous cytotoxic and anti‑angiogenic mechanisms in solid tumors such as biliary tract cancer and non-small cell lung cancer.
