Overview

Cyclophosphamide induces DNA cross-linking, while vincristine disrupts the mitotic spindle by binding to tubulin. Prednisone provides lympholytic effects through glucocorticoid receptor activation. This specific combination name is widely regarded as a nomenclature error for the G-CVP regimen (Obinutuzumab-CVP) used in the Fondazione Italiana Linfomi (FIL) FOLL19 Phase III trial for follicular lymphoma, where the 'G' for the anti-CD20 antibody Gazyva (obinutuzumab) was incorrectly expanded to gemcitabine in certain clinical databases.
