Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy consisting of two established chemotherapeutic agents (gemcitabine and docetaxel) and an investigational peptide (BIO-11006). BIO-11006 is a 10-amino acid peptide that inhibits the myristoylated alanine rich protein kinase C substrate (MARCKS) protein. It prevents MARCKS-mediated signaling, thereby inhibiting tumor cell proliferation, migration, metastasis and survival. Additionally, BIO-11006 reduces mucin granule release and mucus overproduction in the lungs. The combination leverages the cytotoxic effects of gemcitabine and docetaxel with the unique mechanism of BIO-11006 to potentially enhance anti-tumor activity.
