The combination of gemcitabine, gimeracil, nab-paclitaxel, oteracil, oxaliplatin, and tegafur is a multi-agent chemotherapy regimen primarily investigated for the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer. This regimen, often referred to as GS-Nab-Ox, integrates four distinct cytotoxic strategies: gemcitabine (a nucleoside analog), S-1 (an oral fluoropyrimidine combination consisting of tegafur, gimeracil, and oteracil), nab-paclitaxel (an albumin-bound nanoparticle formulation of paclitaxel), and oxaliplatin (a platinum-based antineoplastic agent). The regimen is designed to leverage the synergistic effects of these agents to inhibit DNA synthesis, induce DNA cross-linking, and disrupt microtubule dynamics, thereby overcoming drug resistance and improving survival outcomes in patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma. It is being developed and studied by the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Harbin Medical University.
