Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of gemcitabine and lobaplatin. Gemcitabine is a pyrimidine nucleoside antimetabolic drug that primarily interferes with DNA synthesis in tumor cells, specifically during the S phase of the cell cycle. Lobaplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent. When combined with gemcitabine, this regimen has been shown to reduce levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in patients' serum, which may contribute to its therapeutic efficacy in locally advanced cervical cancer.
