gemcitabine + nimotuzumab + toripalimab

Gemcitabine + nimotuzumab + toripalimab is an investigational combination regimen being evaluated for the treatment of locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). This triplet therapy integrates three distinct therapeutic approaches: cytotoxic chemotherapy with gemcitabine (a nucleoside analogue that inhibits DNA synthesis), targeted therapy with nimotuzumab (a humanized monoclonal antibody against the epidermal growth factor receptor, EGFR), and immunotherapy with toripalimab (a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein 1, PD-1). The regimen is currently being compared against the standard-of-care gemcitabine and cisplatin (GP) doublet in a Phase 3 clinical trial sponsored by the Air Force Military Medical University in China, aiming to improve the overall response rate and long-term outcomes in NPC patients through synergistic anti-tumor activity.
