Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gemcitabine + triapine is an investigational combination therapy consisting of gemcitabine, a nucleoside analog, and triapine (3-AP), a ribonucleotide reductase inhibitor. The combination is designed to enhance gemcitabine's anticancer activity by preventing cancer cells from repairing DNA damage. Prolonged exposure to triapine followed by gemcitabine has shown potential to overcome gemcitabine resistance in some patients.
