Overview

Gemcitabine + vinorelbine + ifosfamide + filgrastim (also known as the F-GIV or FGIV regimen) is a multi-agent chemotherapy combination used as salvage therapy for relapsed or refractory lymphoma, including both Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Developed as a risk-adapted outpatient approach, the regimen combines the cytotoxic effects of gemcitabine (a nucleoside analog antimetabolite), vinorelbine (a vinca alkaloid microtubule inhibitor), and ifosfamide (a DNA-alkylating agent). Filgrastim, a recombinant granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), is included to provide hematopoietic support and reduce the incidence of neutropenia, allowing for intensive treatment in an ambulatory setting. The regimen was evaluated in a Phase II trial sponsored by Bayside Health in Australia for patients who failed prior therapies or stem cell transplants.
