Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Gemigliptin + rosuvastatin** is an oral fixed-dose combination medicine for patients with concomitant type 2 diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia. It combines gemigliptin, a selective dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor that improves glycemic control by prolonging endogenous incretin activity, with rosuvastatin, a competitive 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase inhibitor that lowers low-density-lipoprotein cholesterol. The combination was developed by LG Life Sciences and subsequently LG Chem, and is marketed in South Korea as Zemiro. The marketed product has been studied as monolayer and bilayer tablets, with studies supporting pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic bioequivalence to separate tablets and between the two tablet designs.
