Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GEN-001 + pembrolizumab is an **investigational combination therapy** consisting of GEN-001, an orally-administered live biotherapeutic product (LBP) designed to modulate the gut microbiome to enhance the body's antitumor immune responses, and pembrolizumab, a monoclonal antibody immune checkpoint inhibitor targeting PD-1 developed by Merck (as Keytruda). GEN-001 is thought to enhance and broaden the response to immune checkpoint blockade by modulating the host immune microenvironment via the gut microbiota. The combination is being evaluated primarily for the treatment of advanced biliary tract cancer in patients who have failed prior standard therapies. GEN-001 is developed by Genome & Company, and pembrolizumab by Merck (MSD)[3][5].
