Overview
GEN1053 (also known as TRV001) is a bispecific T-cell engager (TCE) developed by Traverse Biotech in collaboration with Genmab. Utilizing Genmab's proprietary DuoBody platform, the antibody is designed to simultaneously bind the CD3 epsilon subunit on T cells and the Receptor Tyrosine Kinase Like Orphan Receptor 2 (ROR2) on tumor cells. ROR2 is an oncofetal antigen that is highly expressed in various solid tumors—including melanoma, renal cell carcinoma, and breast cancer—while maintaining minimal expression in healthy adult tissues. By facilitating the formation of an immunological synapse between cytotoxic T cells and ROR2-positive cancer cells, GEN1053 induces targeted T-cell activation and tumor cell lysis. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials for the treatment of advanced solid tumors.
