Overview

Ginger and curcumin co-supplementation is a combination of bioactive extracts derived from *Zingiber officinale* and *Curcuma longa*, respectively. This combination is primarily investigated for its synergistic anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. In clinical studies focusing on postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMO), the co-supplementation has demonstrated the ability to improve bone mineral density (BMD) at the femur neck and modulate biochemical markers of bone turnover, such as osteocalcin and alkaline phosphatase. Additionally, it has been shown to reduce systemic inflammatory markers like highly-sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and enhance antioxidant defenses by increasing superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels and total antioxidant capacity (TAC).
