Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ginkgo extract + tetramethylpyrazine (also known as ethypyrazine or ligustrazine) is a combination drug product developed by Sihuan Pharmaceutical (Honghe) for the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. The formulation consists of Ginkgo biloba leaf extract and tetramethylpyrazine, which work synergistically to provide neuroprotection, improve cerebral blood flow, and reduce inflammation. Ginkgo extract contains flavonoids and terpenoids that act as antioxidants and platelet-activating factor (PAF) receptor antagonists, while tetramethylpyrazine acts as a vasodilator and calcium channel blocker. The drug is primarily indicated for acute ischemic stroke, coronary artery disease, and peripheral arterial occlusive disease, and is typically administered via intravenous injection.
