This formulation leverages the "Qi-tonifying" properties of *Panax ginseng* and the "sedative" and "astringent" effects of *Concha Ostreae* (oyster shell). Pharmacological research indicates that the combination exerts analgesic effects by modulating inflammatory pathways and pain-related signaling. Specifically, it has been shown to downregulate the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), while also inhibiting the transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) channel and reducing levels of substance P in the spinal cord. It is typically administered orally as a decoction or granule preparation.
