Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GliSODin is an orally administered nutraceutical supplement that combines superoxide dismutase (SOD) derived from cantaloupe melon (Cucumis melo L.C.) with gliadin, a protein from wheat. The gliadin component functions as a biopolymer coating, protecting the SOD enzyme from degradation in the gastrointestinal tract and enabling its absorption. By bolstering the body's primary antioxidant defenses, GliSODin works to reduce oxidative stress. It does this by catalyzing the conversion of superoxide radicals into less harmful molecules. It has been clinically studied as an adjunct therapy for non-segmental vitiligo (with phototherapy) and melasma, and is also marketed for general skin health, anti-aging, and to mitigate exercise-induced muscle damage. The product was developed by the French company Isocell Laboratories and is marketed by various partners, including PLT Health Solutions.
