Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Glucose + oleic acid is a combination being studied for its potential effects on glucose metabolism. Oleic acid is a long-chain fatty acid that has been shown to inhibit glucose production and food intake when administered intracerebroventricularly. Research suggests that oleic acid can signal nutrient availability to the central nervous system, which in turn limits further delivery of nutrients to the circulation. The combination may have synergistic effects on glucose homeostasis.
