Overview
Conheal is a preservative-free, inorganic salt-free, unit-dose artificial tear formulation containing isotonic glycerol and 0.015% sodium hyaluronate. Developed by Pannonpharma Ltd, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of dry eye disease and severe conjunctivochalasis. The mechanism involves the water-retention properties of hyaluronic acid and the lubricating and osmoprotective effects of glycerol. Clinical studies have demonstrated that regular use can significantly reduce the severity of Lid-Parallel Conjunctival Folds (LIPCOF), potentially providing a conservative alternative to surgical intervention for conjunctivochalasis. The formulation is designed to be infection-free for up to 12 hours after opening.
