Gonadotropins + letrozole is a combination therapy used primarily for ovulation induction in women with infertility, especially those with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) who have not responded to first-line treatments such as clomiphene citrate. Letrozole is a nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitor that reduces estrogen synthesis, thereby increasing follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) secretion and promoting ovarian follicular development. Gonadotropins are injectable hormones (such as recombinant FSH or human menopausal gonadotropin) that directly stimulate the ovaries to induce follicular growth and ovulation. The combination of letrozole and gonadotropins has been shown to improve ovulation rates, clinical pregnancy rates, endometrial thickness, and reduce the total dose of gonadotropin required compared to monotherapy. This regimen is particularly useful in women with PCOS who are resistant to other forms of ovulation induction[1][2][5][6].
