GPC3-CAR-T cells (Beijing Tsinghua Chang Gung Hospital) is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy currently in Phase I clinical development for the treatment of Glypican-3 (GPC3)-positive hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The therapy consists of T cells engineered to express a CAR targeting GPC3, a heparin sulfate proteoglycan that is overexpressed in the majority of HCC cases but absent in most healthy adult tissues. By targeting GPC3, the CAR-T cells are intended to selectively identify and eliminate malignant hepatocytes while sparing normal tissue. The clinical program, led by Beijing Tsinghua Chang Gung Hospital, evaluates the safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy of these cells following intravenous infusion in patients who have failed standard first-line therapies.
