Overview

GPRC5D CAR-T cell therapy (Qi Deng) is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting G protein-coupled receptor class C group 5 member D (GPRC5D). Developed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory plasma cell dyscrasias, including multiple myeloma, this therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's T cells to express a CAR that recognizes GPRC5D, an orphan receptor highly expressed on malignant plasma cells. Upon re-infusion, these engineered T cells selectively identify and eliminate GPRC5D-expressing tumor cells. The therapy is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 clinical trial (NCT04674852) sponsored by investigator Qi Deng at the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University.
