**Grammidin** is a locally acting fixed-dose throat and oral-cavity anti-infective product marketed by Valenta Pharm. The unqualified registered product contains the peptide antibiotic **gramicidin C** and the quaternary-ammonium antiseptic **cetylpyridinium chloride**; it is supplied as resorption tablets and a metered-dose topical throat spray. Gramicidin C increases bacterial cytoplasmic-membrane permeability, destabilizing susceptible microbial cells and causing cell death, while cetylpyridinium chloride provides local antiseptic activity that suppresses microbial growth.
