Granulate of warming the kidney, invigorating the spleen, activating blood and removing edema (also known as Wenshen Jianpi Huoxue Lishui or WSJPHXLS) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine and the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF), particularly for patients presenting with the TCM syndrome of spleen and kidney yang deficiency, blood stasis, and water retention. The formulation is composed of several medicinal herbs, including *Astragalus membranaceus* and *Salvia miltiorrhiza*, which work synergistically to improve cardiac function, reduce fluid retention (edema), and enhance exercise tolerance. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in lowering N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels and improving the quality of life in CHF patients, likely through the modulation of neurohumoral factors and the reduction of systemic inflammation.
