granulocyte colony-stimulating factor + interleukin-11 is a combination therapy comprising two recombinant human cytokines: rhG-CSF and rhIL-11. G-CSF is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the bone marrow to produce and release neutrophils into the bloodstream. Interleukin-11 is a pleiotropic cytokine that stimulates megakaryocytopoiesis, leading to the production of platelets. This combination is being investigated by Fudan University as a mobilization regimen to improve hematopoietic reconstitution, specifically targeting megakaryocytic and erythroid lineages, in patients with multiple myeloma or lymphoma undergoing autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (auto-HSCT). Preclinical and early clinical data suggest that the combination significantly increases the yield of functional progenitor cells and shortens the time to platelet engraftment compared to G-CSF alone.
