Overview

This investigational combination therapy consists of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) and autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP). It is being evaluated by the Riyadh Fertility and Reproductive Health center for the treatment of recurrent implantation failure (RIF) in women undergoing in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET). G-CSF is a biologic growth factor that acts as an immunomodulator to enhance embryo implantation and potentially increase endometrial thickness by regulating the immune environment. PRP is a concentrated autologous blood product containing various growth factors (such as PDGF, VEGF, and TGF-beta) that promote tissue repair and regeneration. In the clinical protocol, PRP is administered via intrauterine infusion during a mock embryo transfer, while G-CSF (specifically Filgrastim) is administered via weekly subcutaneous injections until the 12th week of gestation or a negative pregnancy test.
