This refers to the **combination of granulocyte growth factors (typically granulocyte colony-stimulating factors, or G-CSF, such as filgrastim or pegfilgrastim) and erythroid growth factors (such as erythropoietin analogs, including epoetin alfa or darbepoetin alfa)**. G-CSF stimulates the proliferation, differentiation, and mobilization of neutrophil precursors, boosting neutrophil production. Erythropoietin analogs stimulate the proliferation and maturation of erythroid progenitor cells, increasing red blood cell production. Used together, these agents aim to enhance recovery of both erythroid and granulocytic lineages, for example, in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes or following myelosuppressive therapy. The combination has shown synergistic effects in some patients with refractory anemia, improving both neutrophil and erythroid responses by leveraging distinct mechanisms in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell lineages[2][3][4].
