Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Green tea + aloe vera is a combination of two plant-derived substances commonly used in dietary supplements, cosmetics, and topical formulations. Green tea (Camellia sinensis) is rich in polyphenolic compounds such as catechins (notably epigallocatechin-3-gallate), which have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, neuroprotective, and potential anticancer properties. Aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis miller) contains polysaccharides like acemannan that exhibit antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects; it is widely used for wound healing and soothing skin conditions. When combined topically or orally in supplements or cosmetic products, these ingredients are believed to provide synergistic benefits for skin health—such as reducing inflammation and promoting healing—and may also be explored for hair growth stimulation by enhancing dermal papilla stem cell function through pathways involving β-catenin stabilization[2][8]. However, there is limited clinical evidence supporting the efficacy of this specific combination for any particular medical indication.
