Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Group A streptococcus vaccine (alum)** is GSK's investigational four-component, peptide-based vaccine formulation for prevention of infection caused by *Streptococcus pyogenes* (group A streptococcus). The formulation contains four vaccine antigen components with aluminum hydroxide (alum) adjuvant and is designed to induce protective adaptive immune responses, including antibodies directed against Strep A antigens. It is being evaluated as one of two adjuvanted formulations in a first-in-human, randomized, placebo-controlled Phase 1 study in healthy adults aged 18–25 years, using low, medium, and high intramuscular dose levels.
