Overview

GRT-R912 is a self-amplifying mRNA (samRNA) vaccine candidate developed by Gritstone bio as part of its CORAL program for the prevention of COVID-19. Unlike conventional mRNA vaccines, samRNA is designed to replicate once inside the cell, potentially allowing for lower doses and more durable immune responses. GRT-R912 specifically targets the SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein (Beta variant) along with a proprietary set of highly conserved T-cell epitopes (TCE11) to drive both broad B-cell and robust T-cell immunity. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity in various populations, including healthy adults and people living with HIV.
