GSK2890457 is an investigational **oral four-component nutritional-agent combination** developed by GSK for metabolic disease. Also called GSK457, it combines oligofructosaccharide, apple pectin, blackcurrant extract, and oleic acid in a 5:5:2:3 ratio. The mixture was selected from nutritional components based on weight-loss and glucose-lowering effects in mouse models, including in combination with a long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist; however, its preclinical metabolic effects did not translate into meaningful weight-loss efficacy in a six-week randomized clinical study in healthy volunteers and people with type 2 diabetes.
