GTU-multHIV B vaccine + LIPO-5 vaccine is a combination of two investigational therapeutic HIV vaccines designed to stimulate immune responses in people living with HIV. The GTU-multHIV B component is a DNA-based therapeutic vaccine encoding multiple HIV antigens (including Rev, Nef, Tat, p17/p24, and Pol/Env epitopes) from clade B HIV. It aims to induce strong cell-mediated immunity by delivering plasmid DNA encoding these antigens[1][6][9]. The LIPO-5 component is a peptide-based therapeutic HIV vaccine consisting of five synthetic lipopeptides derived from conserved regions of the Gag, Pol, and Nef proteins of HIV; it is formulated with lipid moieties to enhance immunogenicity. This combination has been studied as part of prime-boost strategies for enhancing cellular immune responses in people on suppressive antiretroviral therapy (ART). Both vaccines are intended for use as immunotherapeutic agents rather than preventive vaccines.
