Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy consisting of two traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) products—Gujin Granule and Shengmai Injection—together with two chemotherapeutic agents, cisplatin and vinorelbine. Gujin Granule is a complex herbal formulation based on Baihe Gujin Tang, traditionally used in TCM for nourishing yin and treating chronic lung diseases; its composition includes multiple herbs such as Scrophulariae, Platycodon, Paeoniae, and Glycyrrhizae[2]. Shengmai Injection is derived from the classic formula Shengmai San (containing ginseng, ophiopogon root, and schisandra fruit), commonly used to tonify qi and fluids in TCM. Cisplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapy that forms DNA crosslinks to inhibit cancer cell replication. Vinorelbine is a third-generation vinca alkaloid that inhibits microtubule assembly during mitosis[6][8][10]. This combination has been explored primarily for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), aiming to integrate the cytotoxic effects of chemotherapy with potential supportive or synergistic effects from TCM components.
