Overview
**GWP42002 + GWP42003** is a combination botanical drug product developed by GW Pharmaceuticals consisting of plant-derived delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC, GWP42002) and cannabidiol (CBD, GWP42003), along with minor cannabinoids and other cannabis-derived components. It acts primarily through activation of cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2, with THC providing psychoactive effects and CBD modulating seizure activity and inflammation without psychoactivity. The combination was investigated for recurrent glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), a potential orphan indication, and as adjunctive therapy for epilepsy seizures, though development focused more on individual components like Epidiolex (CBD).[1][2][10][16]
