GX-188E + GX-I7 is a combination of two investigational immunotherapeutic agents developed by Genexine for the treatment of cancers associated with human papillomavirus (HPV), particularly head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) and cervical cancer. GX-188E (tirvalimogene teraplasmid) is a therapeutic DNA vaccine encoding the E6/E7 fusion protein from HPV subtypes 16 and 18, designed to induce an immune response against HPV-infected tumor cells[4][2]. GX-I7 (efineptakin alfa) is a long-acting recombinant human interleukin 7 (IL-7), functioning as an immune-oncology agent that amplifies T-cell populations, thereby enhancing anti-tumor immunity[5][6]. The combination has shown promising activity in phase 2 clinical trials as neoadjuvant therapy for patients with resectable HPV-positive HNSCC, significantly increasing tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and reshaping the tumor microenvironment toward an inflamed phenotype[1][2]. Both drugs are proprietary products of Genexine.
